Houzz, the online design and construction platform (do you follow us there?!) just released its 2025 Fall Design Trends Report. Based on insights from its more than 70 million design enthusiasts and 3 million residential construction and design professionals, Houzz found that users are gravitating toward colorful, personal spaces that are textured and unique—and that also feature plenty of smart home features.
Bold blue cabinetry and dark wood in our client’s Nokomis home office.
Design and construction pros on Houzz say that more homeowners are embracing bold choices this fall. Jewel tones, wallpaper, statement ceilings, painted doors and playful patterns are all part of a push for individuality—bye-bye, gray, beige and greige. The shift, Houzz experts say, reflects a move away from resale-driven decisions toward deeply personal designs, with homeowners opting for vivid, expressive details that make their spaces feel unique and emotionally resonant.

Layered textures—from boucle and grasscloth to plaster, zellige tile, fluting and handcrafted details—are also huge for fall. Designers on Houzz are treating texture as a neutral, using it to bring warmth, depth and dimension to homeowner spaces. Inviting spaces that feel rich, lived-in and full of personality are the result.
