Canopy Hoods
Wall-mounted canopy hoods are probably the most common type of hood; they attach to the wall above and behind your range. They typically offer excellent venting by funneling and pushing air out of the house. They’re available in a variety of finishes and colors, including metal, glass and wood, and can be easily customized to match your cabinetry.

Island Canopy Hoods
Similar in appearance to standard canopy hoods, island canopy hoods hang from the ceiling over an island range and are finished on all sides, creating an interesting visual focal point from no matter where you stand in your kitchen. They usually vent via ductwork in the ceiling.

Box Hoods
Box hoods are slim, clean-lined and modern—although that doesn’t mean you have to have a modern design to install one. These types of hoods are sleek, square designs with no moldings or other design elements. Like canopy hoods, they’re available in a variety of finishes, including high-gloss acrylic, matte acrylic, laminate and more.
