Towards the end of every year, major paint brands—culminating with international color company Pantone—predict the colors they think will be most popular the following calendar year. In August, Sherwin-Williams announced its 2026 ColorMix forecast: Frosted Tints, Sunbaked Hues, Restorative Darks and Foundational Neutrals.
Here’s a closer look at each category.
Halcyon Green by Sherwin-Williams
Cool, analogous tones of icy tinted pastels in blue, green, and purple designed to complement each other in whatever combination they’re used. Pictured above: Halcyon Green.
Henna Shade by Sherwin-Williams
Natural clay, buttery yellows, and intense, enriched reds in a nostalgic, dramatic palette. Pictured above: Henna Shade.

Deep, nocturnal colors chosen to inspire rest, release and richness. Pictured above on the bathroom vanity: Garden Gate.

Essential neutrals, but even more interesting for 2026—colors that expand on the concept of black and white with strongly satured near-blacks, silvery grays, lively tans and taupes and sparkling whites.
