Trend Report: Sherwin-Williams Predicts 2026’s Most Popular Paint Colors

Towards the end of every year, major paint brands—culminating with international color company Pantone—predict the colors they think will be most popular the following calendar year. In August, Sherwin-Williams announced its 2026 ColorMix forecast: Frosted Tints, Sunbaked Hues, Restorative Darks and Foundational Neutrals.

Here’s a closer look at each category.

Essential neutrals, but even more interesting for 2026—colors that expand on the concept of black and white with strongly satured near-blacks, silvery grays, lively tans and taupes and sparkling whites.
