Is 2025 the year you’re planning to build the kitchen of your dreams? It’s exciting to embark on a new project—browse Pinterest for color schemes; flip through shelter magazines and read editors’ round-ups of trends; tap your friends for recommendations for designers and contractors; and add must-have pieces to your online shopping cart.
It’s also important to hire a company that has a proven track record. At Metro Cabinet Company, we’re not your typical cabinet-in, cabinet-out designers. Our team is made up of qualified space planners with more than 20 years of combined knowledge and excellent working relationships with our vendors. We’d love to work on your dream project with you, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
In the meantime, here are a few other things to keep in mind before you start a kitchen renovation.
Identify your needs, wants and budget—and know that cabinetry is a part of that total. Your budget should include HVAC (for ventilation); electric for appliances, lighting and outlets; flooring, countertops and appliances; and other related costs (such as changing a room’s layout).
Be sure to hire a qualified, professional contractor. Most work in Sarasota County requires permitting.
Be prepared to pay a retainer for design services, including drawings of your design plans.
Share your inspiration photos and ideas with your design team. A Pinterest board is a great way to do this.
Identify the appliances you need and whether they require electricity or gas. Think: ovens, refrigerators (built-in or standalone), microwaves (installed in a drawer or above the stove) and ventilation (recirculating or external).
Understand the product that you are purchasing. The Metro team is happy to share our knowledge and explain everything you need to know about your cabinets, design and more.
